Julia Latiolais Hernandez

NEW IBERIA – Funeral Services will be conducted for Mrs. Julia Latiolais Hernandez, age 76, at 10:30 am Friday, September 21, 2012 at Evangeline Funeral Home with Fr. Ed Degeyter officiating. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm until 10:00 pm on Thursday with a Rosary at 6:30 pm. The funeral home will reopen at 8:00 am on Friday until service time.

A native of Arnaudville and resident of New Iberia, Mrs. Hernandez passed away at 6:20 am on Tuesday, September 19, 2012 at her residence.

Julia was a people person. She and her husband, Donald, ran her business J & D Lounge for many years. She especially loved spending time with her family and friends. Her pastimes include dancing, going to the casino and playing Booray.

She is survived by her husband, Donald Ray Hernandez of New Iberia; son, Randy Hernandez and wife Joyrita of Youngsville; brother, Francis Latiolais and wife Anita of Plaquemine; sisters, Velma Richard and husband Raymond of Sunset, Rose Boudreaux of New Iberia; grandchildren, Christina Lynn Botha and husband Juan, Joshua James Hernandez, Zachary John Hernandez, Katie Lauren Hernandez and best friend, Rita Lou Louviere and husband Wayne.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Stephen Latiolais and Laura Theriot Latiolais; brothers, Alton Latiolais, Sr., Steven Latiolais and sisters, Florina Lancon, Alta “Totsie” Boudreaux and Clara Derouen.

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
