NEW IBERIA – Graveside Services were conducted for Mrs. James O’Donnell, the former Junie Jane Broussard, age 94, at 2:00 pm Tuesday, May 21, 2019 at Holy Family Mausoleum. Fr. Matt Woollett, Pastor of Episcopal Church of the Epiphany conducted the services.
A native and resident of New Iberia, Mrs. O’Donnell passed away at 5:25 am on Saturday, May 18, 2019 at Iberia Medical Center.
Mrs. O’Donnell was a longtime member of the Episcopal Church of the Epiphany in New Iberia where she served as a missionary in South America. She served as a Pink Lady at Dauterive Hospital for many years and was voted Pink Lady of the Year in 1985-1986 for all of her dedication.
She is survived by her daughters, Michele Dennis of Crestview, FL and Maureen Witkiewiccz and husband Stan of Zion, Illinois; two granddaughters, Kelley Keeling and Wendy Akins; two grandsons, Jeff Pyles and Jerry Pyles; numerous great grandchildren and one sister, Sylvia Gayle Chevalon of New Iberia.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James O’Donnell; parents, Hazard and May Leleux Broussard; son-in-law, Eddie Dennis; and two brothers, Terry S. Broussard and Ira R. Broussard.
The family wishes to thank Gloria Pommier, Donald Akers and Kieran Olivier for all of their love and compassion shown to their mother over the years.
