Junius Bonin

NEW IBERIA – A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted for Mr. Junius Pierre Bonin, age 89 , at 11:00 am Saturday, January 31, 2015 at Our lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church with Fr. Mark Derise officiating. Interment will be follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Friday with a Rosary at 6:30 pm. The funeral home will reopen at 8:00 am on Saturday until service time.

A native of St. Martin Parish and resident of New Iberia, Mr. Bonin passed away at11:10 am on Wednesday, January 28, 2015 at Iberia Medical Center.

Mr. Bonin was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual help Catholic Church and a Member of the Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed spending time outdoors, fishing and crabbing. He also loved growing a garden and sharing his vegetables with family and friends.

He is survived by his wife, Leola Viator Bonin of New Iberia; three sons, Keith Bonin and wife Linda of Pineville; Kenneth Bonin of Lafayette and Michael Bonin and wife Joy of New Iberia; six grandchildren, Sara Dantin and husband Beau of Baton Rouge; Brian Bonin of Atlanta; Scott Bonin of Metairie; Breigh Casanova and husband Brian; Alex Bonin and Ian Bonin all of New Iberia and one great grandchild, Daniel Casanova.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Clovis and Louisianne Bonin; three brothers, Euclid, Aymaire and Solonie Bonin and one sister, Lydia Lavergne.

Pallbearers will be Michael Bonin, Kenneth Bonin, Keith Bonin, Alex Bonin, Ian Bonin, Brian Casanova, James Freyou, Scott Bonin, Brian Bonin and Beau Bonin.
