Junius Louviere

LOREAUVILLE – A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Junius Louviere, age 91, at 2:00 pm Monday, March 9, 2015 at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Fr. Buddy Breaux will be the celebrant. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Mausoleum.

A gathering of family and friends will be held at Evangeline Funeral Home of New Iberia on Monday from 9:00 am until 1:30 pm, with the Rosary being recited at 11:30 am.

Junius was a native and lifelong resident of Loreauville, and passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 07, 2015 at his residence with his family at his side.

Junius was a longtime sugarcane farmer and also enjoyed tending to his vegetable garden. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather, brother, and friend to many. He will be missed dearly.

Survivors include his wife of 70 years, Emily Laviolette Louviere; his children, Merril Louviere Hope and husband Robert “Bob” Hope, Perry Louviere and wife Faye, and Randy Louviere and wife Brenda; six grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; and his brothers, Ury Louviere and wife Elaine, and Jerry Louviere.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John Louviere and Josephine Melancon Louviere; and his nine siblings.

Serving as pallbearers will be Perry Louviere, Bob Hope, Randy Louviere, Jason Louviere, Russel Louviere and Donald Louviere.
