Remembering the kindness radiating from Kenneth all the family times spent at Miriam & Kenneth's new address on Hazard Rd. Grandma Gert had to be smiling how they welcomed all who would come for a stay. I have so many memories of Avery Island from my first Xmas visit in 1956 to all the Christmas name drawings at Grandma Gert's. Then things changed and Miss Gert was gone; but not the hospitality radiating from Kenneth & Miriam. Kenneth was still in good health driving us around the newly developed back of the Island.
Kenneth tried to point out landmarks with many interruptions from Big Brother Donald! Kenneth and brothers hosted my brother Father Colin and priest friends for a fishing trip on the Heron - a big experience for those Kansas boys. Colin was so happy to reciprocate having Kenneth come to Kansas for a hunt of quail and pheasant.
We love you Kenneth. May you rest in Peace!

Lucy Dubois

My earliest signifcant memory of Kenneth was when I was a teenager, Kenneth was injured(burned) in a natural gas heater explosion at the old Rynella Church. When our Mother saw him in the hospital she cried. An experience I will never forget.
Kenneth always had a smile. We always stayed at Kenneth & Miriam's when we visited and could always count on Miriam to make a shrimp sauce.
When mother passed away, Kenneth was the only sibling who didn't own his home at the time. We worked to make sure it stayed in the family with Kenneth
& Miriam owning the property.

Enjoy your well earned rest Dear Brother-- a beautiful life in a unique & beautiful place!

Miriam and family, We are so very sorry for your loss.

Kenneth was one person that was so easy going and a devout Catholic; I shall always remember that about him. Just as my husband he loved to hunt and fish.

I am so sorry to hear of his passing. He was such a sweet man and always made me laugh. I enjoyed every break I had if he was there. Even though I only worked at the factory a few months before going back to school he made such an impression on me as one of the nicest, most down to earth people on the planet.

My deepest thoughts and prayers for the family.
Mr. Kenneth was a very good man. I can remember when the men would go fishing on the heron. And when they got back he would take all of us kids to where the freezer was and let us eat all the ice cream we could handle. He always had a smile on his face. And loved joking and kidding around. He will surely be missed.

Kenneth was the best of the best. When we were children he was like a God to us. Fishing trips on the Heron with Kenneth and the crew were the best times and ones that I remember fondly. When I moved to the Island after Hurricane Katrina, Kenneth always went out of his way to check on me. He was my friend. I will miss him deeply. Please know my thoughts are with all of the Dubois family during this difficult time.
