Lela Margaret Light Williams

was born to the late William Russell Light and Oma B. Allen Light on March 6, 1926, in

Mooringsport, Louisiana. She graduated from Vivian High School in 1944 and later enjoyed

working over the years as a bookkeeper, retail salesperson, and café owner. Her life was richly

blessed by her love of family, arts and crafts, fishing, camping, baking, gardening, and church

fellowship.

Margaret was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Robert Hiram Williams; her seven

cherished siblings: Willie Vena Light Jolly, Bessie Lucille Light Boyter, Eva Myrtle Light

Lofton, Eunice B. Light Wilson, Thomas Dan Light, William Don L. Light, and Gloria Evon

Light Spikes; dedicated sons-in-law Larry Joseph Cheramie and Larry Eggers; and her precious

grandson Virgil Victor Hendrix III.

She will forever be remembered by her daughters Gloria Rue Nowlin Cheramie, Bonnie Denise

Williams Groom, and Robbie Corine Eggers; son-in-law Willard “Sonny” Blaine Groom;

grandchildren Nicole Rene’ Cheramie Lobello and husband Robert Lobello, Stephanie Groom

Knight, James Michael Groom and wife Kristi Groom, Monique Hendrix Welch and husband

Louis Welch, and Rachel Hendrix Davenport and husband Brandon Davenport; adored relatives

Huey Pierce Campbell, Jr., wife Agnes Lavergne Campbell, and son Huey “Tucker” Campbell,

III; her precious great-grandchildren Julia Margaret Lobello, Ethan Robert Lobello, Jacob

Groom, Trent Ledet, Abby Davenport, and Aubree Davenport; and a host of other treasured

family and friends.

Graveside services were held on Monday, November 16, 2020 at 11:00 AM at Potter’s Point Cemetery, Potter’s Point, Texas.
