NEW IBERIA – Funeral Services will be conducted for Mrs. Wade Dugas, the former Lena Vincent, age 90, at 10:00 am Thursday, January 3, 2013 at Evangeline Funeral Home with Fr. Edward Duhon officiating. Interment will follow at St. Michael’s Cemetery in St. Martinville.

Visitation will be held from 8:00 am until service time on Thursday with a Rosary at 9:00 am.

A native and resident of New Iberia, Mrs. Dugas passed away at 11:00 am on Wednesday, January 2, 2012 at Consolata Nursing Home.

Mrs. Dugas was affectionately known to her nieces and nephews as “Nan”. She was a very spiritual and prayerful lady who devoted herself to others by praying for them and was known as a “treater”. She will be missed dearly by those who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her special nephew that was like a son, Oris Gachassin and his wife Nancy of New Iberia and numerous other nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Wade Dugas, Parents, Joseph and Emilda Dugas Vincnet; seven sisters, Marie Derouen, Elizabeth Hernandez, Rama Borel, Felicia Estilette, Alma Thibodeaux, Edith Vincent and Laurence Dugas and three brothers, Adolph Vincent, Albert Vincent and Portius Vincent.

Pallbearers will be Brittany Viator, Trace Oliva, Matt Oliva, Kevin Gachassin, Janie Chauvin and Jacie Sumrall.

Cory Duplantis and Lacy Duplantis will serve as honorary pallbearers.
