

LYDIA – A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted for Mrs. James “Jim” Frawley, Sr., the former Lillian Darcey, age 94, at 10:00 am Thursday, January 29, 2015 at St. Nicholas Catholic Church with Fr. Ed Degeyter officiating. Lecturers will be Cheryl Frawley and Yolinda Olivier. Interment will be follow at Holy Family Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm until 9:00 pm on Wednesday with a Rosary at 6:30 pm. The funeral home will reopen at 8:00 am on Thursday until 9:30 am.
A native of Weeks Island and resident of Lydia, Mrs. Frawley passed away at 10:35 am on, Tuesday, January 27, 2015 at Iberia Medical Center.
Lillian graduated from Franklin High School in 1938 and attended nursing school at Mercy Hospital in New Orleans, graduating as a Registered Nurse in 1941. As a RN, she nursed at several hospitals always requesting the nursery, because she loved taking care of babies. She was the best when it came to “Bedside Nursing.” She was also a very good dancer and enjoyed dancing with her husband anytime they could.
She is survived by her husband James “Jim’ Frawley, Sr. for the past 72 years; her daughter Gwen A. Pichoff and husband David “Bro”; daughter in law, Cheryl Myers Frawley all of Lydia; nine grandchildren, Tina M. Landry; Tony M. Pichoff and wife Robin; Steven Frawley and wife Cyndi all of New Iberia; Terri Derise and husband Clint; Dawn Trahan and husband Raymond; Todd Pichoff and wife Saiana and Jeffrey Frawley all of Lydia; Tanya Decoux and husband Glen of Youngsville and Tim Frawley and wife Renee of Scott; seventeen great grandchildren, Trish James and husband Tristan; Trent Landry and wife Dayna; Tia Derise, Tori Derise; Trace Derise; Alexis Pichoff; Lanay Pichoff; Brianne Frawley; Bryce Frawley; Chyann Frawley; Avri Frawley; Chance Frawley, Gina Frawley Taegan Bourque, Breleigh Trahan, Brittany Bradley, and Ashli Trahan; four great great grandchild, Taryn James, Bentley Tahan, Jaxon Patin and Ronin Patin; a special niece, Edna Wilson of Johnston, RI.
She was preceded in death by her son, James J. Frawley, Jr.; parents, Leona and Julian Darcey; three sisters, Nita Solosky, Flavia Bergeron and Vivian Swafford; three brothers, Whitney Darcey, Ivan Darcey and Gilbert Darcey.
Pallbearers will be Steven Frawley, Jeffrey Frawley, Tim Frawley, Trent Landry, Tony Pichoff and Joey Lopez.
Todd Pichoff, David Pichoff, Brian Swafford, Teagan Bourque, Raymond Trahan and Donald Pavy, MD will serve as honorary pallbearers.
The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to the staff of Iberia Medical Center, Dr. Jose Mata, Dr. Stephen Boudreaux, Melody Coleman and Dane Babin with Heart of Hospice and staff, everyone at Maison Teche Nursing Center, and Barbara Hubbard for being such a wonderful neighbor for over 50 years.
