Linda Viator Giarratano, age 87, met her Lord on Friday, June 2, 2017. She passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her loving children after a long struggle with Alzheimer’s Disease. Linda was born February 27, 1930 in Coteau, Louisiana to the late Ovey Viator and Elmina Blanchard Viator and was one of eleven children. Linda had a very strong faith in God throughout her life and a loving relationship with the Blessed Mother praying her rosary and novenas daily. Linda also served as a reader for Mass at Perpetual Help Church in New Iberia for many years.
She worked as a Paraprofessional, teaching math in the Title 1 program for Iberia Parish School Board for 20 years. She enjoyed collecting dolls and making clothes for them and tending to her flowers and plants. Linda had the wonderful opportunity later in her life to experience living in Mississippi, Tennessee and the beautiful state of Idaho. She also traveled throughout the country with her family during her later years.
