

NEW IBERIA – A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted for Louis Joseph Lancon, age 82, at 1:30 pm on Wednesday, December 8, 2010 at Our Lady of perpetual Help Catholic Church, Fr. Mark Derise will officiate at the services. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 11:00 am until 9:00 pm on Tuesday with a Rosary at 6:00 pm. The funeral home will reopen at 8:00 am on Wednesday until service time.
A native of Franklin and resident of New Iberia, Mr. Lancon passed away at 7:14 am on Monday, December 6, 2010 at Lafayette General medical Center.
Mr. Lancon was a hardworking man who served in the National Guard. He was a shrimper for many years and also was employed at Berard Tugs in Berwick. He loved being outdoors working in his vegetable garden and playing cards. He leaves behind many fond memories for his family and friends and will be missed dearly by all who knew him.
Mr. Lancon is survived by his wife of 42 years, Rosa Delahoussaye Lancon of New Iberia; daughters, Andrea L. Sargent and husband Terry of Pinewood, SC and JoAnn Segura and husband Danny, Sr. of New Iberia; daughter in law, Beverly Ann Lancon of New Iberia and numerous grandchildren great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. He is also survived by two brothers, Leroy Lancon and his wife Amiee and Leo Paul Lancon and wife Grace all of New Iberia and one sister, Betty Ann Dugas and husband Gilbert of New Iberia.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Antoine and Natalie Renard Lancon; one son, Dyna Paul Lancon and one daughter, Glenda A. Guillot.
Pallbearers will be Andrea Sargent, Cody Hebert, Skylar Dore, Dean Lancon, Scott VanWagner and Chris Lancon.
Honorary pallbearers will be Bobby Lancon, David Lancon, Leroy Lancon, Leo Paul Lancon and Paul Lancon.
