So sad to see someone leave so young...I knew his grandfather and his mother well....we had all worked for the Iberia Parish School Board earlier.....his mom helped me often with school board issues . Lyon had much the late 1980's he did some writing.....he wrote several screen plays ....that were good.....what a shame he never had time to develop his writing skills.......sure will miss that beautiful family.......

Lyon was a good friend. Growing up he lived right next door to me. We had a lot of good memories, before I moved to Hawaii. I kept in touch with him on and off through the years. he was an awesome guy. I am truly going to miss him. May the Lord bless him and watch over his family.

Lyon was truly a special person, he had a genuine heart like no one I've ever met. His heart was pure and huge. If you were in Lyon's "circle" then you know what I mean.

When he said that he cared about you or his friends, he meant it. And he would make sure you knew that he cared.

He would go without to help a friend. I've seen him do so time and again. Never expecting anything in return, He just wanted to make sure that the people around him weren't going without.

Even when he was struggling (after the oilfield "crashed"), a mutual friend posted on fb that she needed help, she was a struggling single Mom who needed groceries.

Not only did Lyon want to give her some vegetables that he grew in his garden, but he wanted to go grocery shopping to get her more stuff.

Because she didn't know him that well she turned him down. So he messaged me and asked me if I would send her a message to let her know he was a good guy, and that he just wanted to help her... no strings attached. Who does that? Lyon did.

We could go years without talking, and the first thing he'd say to me when we did see each other was "How ya doing sweetheart?" And then he'd chuckle, God, I'll never forget that chuckle of his.

He took me squirrel hunting with him once. I don't think he got any squirrels that day, because I wouldn't stop asking questions. We just sat in the woods and talked basically. He didn't mind. That's just the kind of guy he was.

After his son was born I would ask how he was doing when we'd talk, and his eyes would light up. He has so much pride in him, and the young man he's grown to be.

Wesley, your Dad is always going to be with you, please know that he has an immense amount of pride for you, And he'll guide you throughout your life.

I'm so sorry for your loss, your Dad is an amazing man. I pray that you grow up to be just like him.

Sending lots of love, thoughts and prayers! ♥ The world lost one of the true good guys with Lyon's passing.

I will miss you old friend we shared many of good times as kids from swimming in the bayou teche to ridding and jumping our bmx bikes in the city park to camping outside at your grandfather's house. We would hang out at fun time arcade down the street from where his mom lived in the Spanish lake apartments. Rest easy my friend see you on the other side.
