Mabel Jeanminette Olivier

LYDIA – A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted for Mrs. Athan Olivier, Sr., the former Mabel Jeanminette, age 91, at 11:00 am Tuesday, May 11, 2010 at St. Nicholas Catholic Church with Fr. Donavan J. Labbe officiating. Interment will follow at St. Nicholas Cemetery in Patoutville.

Visitation will be held from 8:00 am on Tuesday until service time at St. Nicholas Catholic Church in Lydia.

A native of Patoutville and resident of Grand Marais, Mrs. Olivier passed away at 6:25 am on Thursday, May 6, 2010 at Iberia Medical Center.

Mrs. Olivier was a member of St. Nicholas Catholic Church. She served the church community as a CCD teacher, Eucharistic Minister and volunteer. She was also active in the Social Concern Group at St. Nicholas for 24 years.

Mrs. Olivier was a homemaker who was devoted to the care and raising of her ten children and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. She enjoyed cooking, sewing and raising yard animals.

She is survived by her children, Phyllis Raggette; Diane Olivier and companion Sidney Broussard; Antoine Olivier and wife Torinna; Eugene Olivier, Sr. and wife Patricia; Daphie Berard and husband Anthony; Dexter Olivier and wife Kerry all of Grand Marais; Jeanette LeFrere and husband Calvin, Sr. of Lake Charles; Athan Olivier, Jr. and wife Raephelle os St. martinville; Stephon Olivier and wife Cheryl of Houston and Clyde Olivier and wife Bonnie of New Iberia; thirty one grandchildren and twenty one great grandchildren. She is also survived by one sister, Mary Destouet of League City, TX and one brother, Joseph Jeanminette of Danville, California.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Athan Olivier, Sr.; parents, Eugene and Marguerite Jeanminette; two brothers, Francis Jeanminette and Howard Jeanminette and three sisters, Isabelle Boutte, Octavia Broussard and Rita Jeanminette.

Pallbearers will be Athan Olivier, Jr., Antoine G. Olivier, Sr., Eugene A. Olivier, Sr., Clyde B. Olivier, Stephon C. Olivier and Dexter J. Olivier.

Honorary pallbearers will be Calvin LeFrere, Sr., Anthony Berard, Sidney Broussard, Jr., Aaron Raggette, Jr., Calvin LeFrere, Jr., Athan J. Olivier, III, Eugene A. Olivier, Jr., Joshua A. Berard, Tyler J. Olivier, Antoine G. Olivier, Jr., Ryan Olivier, Whitney Jeanminette and Vincent Broussard, Jr.
