

NEW IBERIA – A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted for Mrs. Clarence Joseph Charpentier, the former Marie Harry, age 82, at 11:00 am Friday, July 13, 2012 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church with Fr. Bill Gearheard officiating. Interment will follow at St. Peter’s Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 pm until 9:00 pm on Thursday with a Rosary at 6:30 pm. The funeral home will reopen at 8:00 am on Friday until service time.
A native and resident of New Iberia, Mrs. Charpentier passed away at 7:17 pm on Tuesday, July 10, 2012 at her residence.
Mrs. Charpentier was a graduate of Mt. Carmel Class of 1947. She was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, and taught catechism in the past. In her earlier years she was employed at The Specialty Store in New Iberia, where she was affectionately referred to as one of the “Harry Sisters”. Her greatest joy in life was spending time with her family.
Mrs. Charpentier is survived by her three sons, James Charpentier and wife Debbie B. Charpentier; Harry J. Charpentier and wife Roxiane T. Charpentier and Dean A. Charpentier and wife Susie K. Charpentier ; one daughter, Belinda C. Lucas and husband Damont “Luke” Lucas all of New Iberia; ten grandchildren, Ashley C. Daigle and husband Brock; Cody J. Charpentier; Dustin L. Charpentier & wife Danielle A. Charpentier; Jennifer C. Graves and husband Charles J. Graves, Jr.; Lyndsay Charpentier, Brittany Charpentier and Ian Charpentier; Alison M. Charpentier and husband Kris Charpentier; Katie M. Broussard and husband Randall Broussard and Sarah L. Meche and husband Thad Meche and ten great grandchildren.
She is also survived by two brothers, Jacob Harry and wife Sylvia and Walter Harry; three sisters, Belda H. Broussard and husband Glenn; Alderine H. Hebert and husband Francis and Betty H. Frank all of New Iberia.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Joseph Charpentier; parents, Alcide and Josephine Judice Harry; one brother, Jesse Harry and four sisters, Irene H. Hebert, Ruby H. Lyons, Joann H. Camacho and Anna Lee H. Broussard.
Pallbearers will be James Charpentier, Harry Charpentier, Dean Charpentier, Dustin Charpentier, Ian Charpentier, Ernie Moreaux and Jason Broussard.
Honorary pallbearers will be Cody J. Charpentier, Paul Camacho, Jr., Stacey Broussard, Chad Broussard and Eddie Frank, Jr.
The family would like to thank all family and friends for their prayers and best wishes. They would also like to thank her special caregivers, Gail Duhon, Liz Knight and Felecia Cunningham and all of her other past sitters and the Staff of Hospice of Acadiana and the Staff of Home Instead.
