She fell in love, married, and built a beautiful life with her husband, Allen Romero, a local dairy farmer. Together, they were loving members of the Coteau community, raising three sons —Damien, Daniel, and Jason —who each went on to start families of their own.
Throughout her life, Maudry had a passion for sports, from playing softball in her younger years to watching Yankees and Saints games devoutly and anxiously cheering them on.
Known affectionately as "Memaw," Maudry infused a deep sense of love and faith into her grandchildren. Whether she was listening to zydeco on a Saturday morning, joking in Cajun French with friends, tending to her ladies' houses, babysitting her grandchildren, swinging on the porch with Pop, or offering a quiet prayer, Maudry lived with joy, loyalty, and strength. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and cherished friend who will be deeply missed.
Those left to cherish her memory are her two sons, Daniel Romero and Jason Romero and Wife Julie; six grandchildren, Chayse R. Field and husband Clifford; Abby R. Clark and husband Justin, Emmy Romero, Blake Romero and wife Abigail; Maliya Romero and Kayla Romero and two great grandchildren, Ford Field and Jett Clark.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Allen Joseph Romero; one son, Damian Romero; her parents, Douglas and Elina Broussard Rouly, Sr.; one sister, Isabelle R. Viator and two brothers, Alvin Rouly and Douglas Rouly, Jr.
