

COTEAU – A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted for Mr. Michael “Mike” Roy Champagne, age 70, at 11:00 am Monday, August 7, 2017 at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church with Fr. Brian Harrington officiating. Interment will follow at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Mausoleum.
Visitation will be held from 3:00 pm until 10:00 pm on Sunday with a Rosary at 6:30 pm. The funeral home will reopen at 8:00 am on Monday until service time.
A native of Jeanerette and resident of New Iberia, Mr. Champagne passed away at 1:20 am on Thursday, August 3, 2017 at Iberia Extended Care.
Mike was a lifelong carpenter employed with Champagne’s Construction for the majority of his career. He enjoyed fishing, playing bouree’ and going to the casino.
He will be missed dearly by his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years Annie Mae Toutchet Champagne of New Iberia; one sister, Andrea Thomas and husband Edward of MS and two brothers, Ronald Champagne and wife Brenda of New Iberia and Gary Champagne and wife Simone of Youngsville.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Leroy and Olive Bourgeois Champagne; two daughters, Shannon Marie Champagne and Madrical Lynn Dake and one brother, Roy Paul Champagne and his wife Linda.
Pallbearers will be Ronald Champagne, Gary Champagne, Ron Champagne, Alvin Toucheque, Jr., John Picard, Blaine Touchet, Joseph Badeaux, Jr., and Buck Champagne.
