Nelson was born on October 7, 1934 in New Iberia, LA to the late Lucien and Laurence Louviere Landry and was their only child. His love for his country shined in his military career of 10 years, in which he served in the National Guard, the US Navy and the US Air Force. He then went on into a career of Management at K-Mart in New Iberia.
He had a love for outdoors, spending time fishing and tending to his animals. He raised ducks, rabbits and beautiful German Shepherds.
His family was most important to him and he enjoyed the time spent with them, especially at the casino.
Those left to cherish his memory are his godchildren, Sandra Bourgeois and Tammy Lasseigne; cousins, Raye Douet and Edward Landry and his companion, Bo Abram.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Eustache and Felicienne Derouen Landry and maternal grandparents, Marenas and Blanche Louviere.
