Olga Romero Gary

NEW IBERIA – A gathering of family and friends will be held for Olga Romero Gary Wednesday, September 27, 2017 from 11:00 am until 9:00 pm at Evangeline Funeral Home. The Rosary will be prayed at 6:30 pm. Interment will be held privately at a later date.

Olga was born September 6, 1939 in Coteau to Willa Marie Porrier Romero and the late Ovey Romero, and passed away Thursday, September 21, 2017 at her residence with her family at her side.

Olga was a homemaker dedicated to the love and care of her family. She enjoyed tending to her flowerbeds filled with different flowers and working outside. Olga also enjoyed watching TV, especially WWE wrestling. She will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved her.

Survivors include her mother, willa Marie Porrier; her seven children, Angela Bourque and Leroy, Tabatha Bourque and Verdy Touchet, Brenda Bourque, Matina Ables and Ron, Perry Gary, Terry Gary and Marla, and Timothy Bourque and Samantha; 17 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; and her brothers, Joseph Romero, Paul Romero, Perry Romero, John Romero and Gertrude and Gardy Romero and Latish.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Pauline Jenkins; her father, Ovey Romero; two grandsons, Chance Gary and Ronnie Bourque; and a brother, Curcy Romero.

Honorary pallbearers are Perry, Terry, Dylan and Ryan Gary, Joshua, Zachary, Leroy and Timothy Bourque, Justus Wright, Cory Romero and Verdy Touchet.
