NEW IBERIA – A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted for Mrs. Irvin Paul Derouen, the former Pamela Boudreaux, age 60, at 11:00 am on Friday, June 14, 2019 at Nativity of Our Lady Catholic Church with Fr. Ed Degeyter officiating. Interment will follow at Holy Family Mausoleum.
A gathering of family and friends will be held at Evangeline Funeral Home on Thursday from 4:00 pm until 9:00 pm with a rosary being prayed by the Men’s Rosary Group at 7:00 pm. The funeral home will reopen on Friday at 8:00 am until the service time.
A native and resident of New Iberia, Pamela passed away on Wednesday, June 12, 2019 at her residence, surrounded by her loving family.
Born on January 16, 1959 to Malcolm Boudreaux, Sr. and the late Verna Mae Comeaux Boudreaux, Pamela was one of nine children. Pamela was a faithful and devout parishioner of Nativity of Our Lady Catholic Church. She served as a lector for the church and offered many prayers to those in need. Pamela worked for 30 years at K-mart and as a receptionist for Dr. Stephen Boudreaux’s office. More than anything, Pamela was a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend. She enjoyed spending time with her family and loved every moment spent with them. Pamela will be truly and deeply missed by all those who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her loving husband of 36 years, Irvin Derouen of New Iberia; son, Zachary Derouen and wife Janey B. Derouen of Youngsville; father, Malcolm “ Mac” Boudreaux, Sr. of New Iberia; brothers, Tony Boudreaux of New Iberia, Malcolm “ Mackie” Boudreaux, Jr. and wife Jeanette of Coteau, and Clint Boudreaux and wife Michelle of Coteau; sisters, Darlene Borel and husband Hansel of Loreauville, Sheila Delahoussaye and husband Harold of Breaux Bridge, Nanette Dartez and husband Kevin, and Melissa “Missy” DeRouen. She also leaves behind to cherish her memory her spiritual mentor, Ellen Claudey; and best friend, Tammy Meyers.
She is preceded in by her mother, Verna C. Boudreaux; brother, Nathan Paul Boudreaux; and in laws, Joseph “Coon” and Mable G. Derouen.
Pallbearers I will be Jacob Boudreaux, Seth Boudreaux, Dylan Delahoussaye, Beau Borel, Brock DeRouen, and Dex Meyers.
Gift Bearers will be Janey Derouen, Chantelle Derouen, Tammy Meyers, and Ciara DeRouen.
Readers will be Danielle Caillier and Mikalyn Boudreaux.
