Richard James Durocher

Richard James Durocher, 72, of New Iberia, Louisiana, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 28, 2024. Born and raised in the heart of Louisiana, Richards presence touched the lives of all who knew him, and his legacy will forever be etched in our hearts.

Richard is survived by his devoted wife of 55 years, Wanda Romero Durocher; sons, Jeremy Durocher (Charissa) and Rick Durocher (Tiffany); and daughters, Lisa Tabb, Lillian Nugent (Pat), and Anieka Dore (Todd Sr).

He is also lovingly remembered by his brother Lloyd Durocher, Ridge Durocher, and his sister Charlene Antal.

Richard's legacy continues through his twelve grandchildren: Tylor Dore, Dillion Tabb, Mason Durocher, Cameron Durocher, Brennan Cullotta, Owen Durocher, Parker Delahoussaye, Chloe Durocher, Kynnzlie Durocher, Nicholas Nugent, Steven Nugent and Maddox Guidry and fourteen great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his son Nelson Durocher; his father Nelson Durocher Sr; his mother Florence Louviere Durocher; his brother Nelson Durocher Jr; grandchildren Justin Schaubert and Todd Dore Jr; and daughter-in-law, Karissa Durocher.

His grandchildren will grow up hearing stories of his kindness, wisdom, and unwavering love for his family and his family will remember his love of riding his Harley Davidson.

In accordance with his wishes, Richard will be laid to rest privately at a later date.

Rest in peace, Richard. Your love and light will forever guide us.
