

NEW IBERIA – Memorial services will be celebrated for Mr. Richard J. “Dickie” Sellers, age 68, at 10:30 am Friday, December 7, 2012 at Holy Family Cemetery Chapel. Deacon Wade Broussard will officiate. Inurnment will follow in Holy Family Mausoleum.
A gathering of family and friends will be held at Evangeline Funeral Home on Thursday from 4:00 pm until the recitation of Rosary at 7:00 pm. The funeral home will reopen on Friday from 8:00 am until services.
Richard Sellers was born August 28, 1944 in New Iberia to Robert and Mabel Barras Sellers. He was a veteran of the United States Army and was honorably discharged in 1965.
Dickie, as he was known by family and friends, was a diesel mechanic and was previously part owner of Southern Maintenance Services (SMS) in New Iberia. He had a love of fishing, and enjoyed being part of the fishing rodeos throughout the area. He was a loving father, grandfather, brother and friend and will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved him.
Survivors include his children, Robert C. Sellers and wife Mindy, Brandon Sellers and wife Bonnie, and Shannon Sellers Leleux and husband Rick all of New Iberia; and his grandchildren, Dawson Sellers, Peyton Sellers, Mason Sellers, and Aiden Leleux.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert James Sellers and Mabel Ann Barras Sellers; and his beloved sister, Barbara “Bobbie” Krabe, who passed away just three weeks ago.
