

New Iberia – Funeral services will be celebrated for Rinaud J. “NuNu” Bourque, 85, at 10:00 am on Monday, January 5, 2015 at Evangeline Funeral Home. Deacon Theo Landry will officiate. Mr. Bourque will be laid to rest with his wife Bernice at Memorial Park Cemetery.
A gathering of family and friends will be held at Evangeline Funeral Home on Sunday from 2:00 pm until 9:00 pm, with the Rosary at 6:30 pm. The funeral home will reopen on Monday from 8:00 am until services.
Rinaud was born February 8, 1929 in Iberia Parish to the late Leonice Bourque and Edolie Romero Bourque, and was one of nine children. He passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 03, 2015 at Iberia Medical Center.
Rinaud, known by family and friends as “NuNu”, began working in the oilfield years ago and worked with various companies in the area. He left the oilfield after many years, and opened Tee Coteau Canal Station at the corner of St. Jude and St. Mary in New Iberia. He and his wife operated the station for 7 years, before he went to work with the city of New Iberia. He retired with 20 years of service.
NuNu was a friend to many and enjoyed sitting down with an ice cold beer and barbecuing for family and friends. He also spent some great times at his camp in Lake Fausse Point as well. He will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved him.
Survivors include his children, Linda B. Moore of Lafayette, Ronald J. Bourque and wife Toni, Guy P. Bourque and wife Peggy, Dianne B. Henneman and husband Doug, and Renee’ B. Voorhies and husband Walter all of New Iberia; grandchildren, Matt, Joey, Dawn, Summer, Misty, Kegan, Guy II, Dax, Clay, Maegan, Dillon, Elizabeth, Amanda, Alex, and Tonya; 16 great grandchildren; a brother, Zoda Bourque of New Iberia; and sisters, Helen Worley, Edith Dooley and Lucy Pete all of New Iberia.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Bernice Hebert Bourque; his great grandson, Gabriel Bourque; three brothers, Wesley, Robert, and Eno J. “Black” Bourque; and a sister, Judith “Nan” Bernard.
Pallbearers will be Ronald Bourque, Guy Bourque, Guy Bourque II, Dax Lanclos, Alex Voorhies, Dillon Henneman and Clay Lanclos
