Rodney Joseph Moneaux Sr.

NEW IBERIA – Funeral Services will be conducted for Rodney Moneaux, Sr., age 47, at 11:00 am Friday, March 14, 2014 at Evangeline Funeral Home with Rev. Donald Pharr officiating. Interment will be held at Holy Family Mausoleum.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm until 10:00 pm on Thursday. The funeral home will reopen at 8:00 am on Friday until service time.

A native of Erath and resident of New Iberia, Rodney passed away at 6:25 pm on Monday March 10, 2014 at his residence.

He is survived by his wife of23years, Laurie Romero Moneaux of New Iberia; three daughters, Christy R. LaBauve of Lafayette; Dominique Comeaux and Makayla Moorehart both of New Iberia; four sons, Brock Romero, Rodney Moneuax, Jr., Hank Moneaux and Joshua Moneaux all of New Iberia; father, Reley Moneaux, Sr. of New Iberia; brothers, Reley “Boo” Moneaux, Jr. and wife Brenda of Erath, Ricky Moneaux and wife Rita of New Iberia, and Marshall Moneaux and Shannon Walker of New Iberia; sisters, Bernadine Cox and husband Jim of Youngsville, Vernadine “Sister” Moneaux of Princeton, TX, Vicky Sowers and husband Michael of Erath, Bernice Moneaux and Jarred Christinsen of New Iberia, and Patrina Moneaux and Adrian Maynard of New Iberia; uncles, John Ronald Gaspard, Ronnie Gaspard, and Paul Gaspard all of New Iberia; and aunt, Verla Gonsoulin of Monroe.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Marylyn Gaspard Moneaux.

Pallbearers will be Brock Romero, Rodney Moneaux, Jr., Hank Moneaux, Joshua Moneaux, Michael Sowers and Marshall Moneaux.
