Shirley Green Albert

January 23, 2026 | Age 88

Shirley Green Albert, affectionately known as “Maw Jean” and “Aunt Shirley,” passed away peacefully on Friday, January 23, 2026, at her residence, surrounded by her loving family. She was 88 years old.

She is survived by her loving daughter and best friend, Glenda Albert, and her faithful dog, Lucky, who never left her side.

She is now reunited in Heaven with her beloved husband, Floyd Joseph Albert; her cherished daughter, Becky Albert; her parents, Willie and Anna Green; and her siblings, Eleanor Williams, Sonny Green, and Toddy Green.

Glenda would like to extend a very special thank you to Shirley’s treasured family and caregivers—Dina Bienvenu; Brett and Kimmy Doumit and their precious daughters, Ella and Kate Doumit; Cindy Herring; and Vickie Husbands—for their unconditional love, dedication, and compassionate care throughout the years. Heartfelt appreciation is also extended to Traditions Hospice for their kindness, care, and compassion shown to Shirley and her family.

In keeping with Shirley’s wishes, she was laid to rest beside her husband, Floyd, and daughter, Becky, at Memorial Park Mausoleum during a private ceremony.
