Stuart was born on July 17, 1955, in Pleasanton, California, to the late James Hebert and the late Charlene Broussard Hebert. He grew up in the heart of Cajun country, in Lafayette, where he developed his lifelong passion for cars and the great outdoors.
As a young man, Stuart dedicated himself to maintaining both his physical fitness and his love for automobiles. He was a proud and skilled auto body repairman at Lafayette Motors, where he worked for many years to ensure every vehicle was repaired to perfection. Stuart also enjoyed working on lawn mowers and small engines, and his dedication to this craft led him to amass an impressive collection—Miranda fondly remembers that he once had 30 lawnmowers that he worked on in his spare time.
In addition to his professional endeavors, Stuart had a deep love for nature and the simple pleasures of life. He and his family cherished their time at Holly Beach, where they had a camp. Stuart enjoyed four-wheeling and spending moments with loved ones. He was also a passionate gardener, tending to his vegetable and fruit crops from dawn until dusk.
When not outdoors, Stuart enjoyed unwinding with his favorite TV channel, MeTV, where he watched westerns and the classic shows from his past. But above all, it was his family that brought him the greatest joy. Stuart's love for his family was immeasurable, and his presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Stuart is survived by his daughter, Miranda Broussard, and her husband, Lucah Broussard; his sister, Karen Mok, and her husband, Savann Mok; and his brother, David Hebert, and his wife, Sandra Hebert.
Stuart was preceded in death by his parents, James and Charlene Hebert, and his brother, Michael Hebert.
His memory will live on in the hearts of his family and friends. Rest in peace, Stuart. You will be forever loved and missed.
