Theresa Gaspard Hayes

NEW IBERIA – Funeral services will be conducted for Theresa Gaspard Hayes, age 55, at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, May 25, 2011 at Evangeline Funeral Home. Pastor Adrian Washington of Total Recovery Outreach Ministries will officiate. Interment will follow in Our Lady of Prompt Succor Mausoleum.

A gathering of family and friends will be held at Evangeline Funeral Home of New Iberia on Tuesday, May 24 from 2:00 pm until 10:00 pm, and will resume on Wednesday from 8:00 am until services.

A native and lifelong resident of New Iberia, Mrs. Hayes passed away Sunday, May 22, 2011 at Dauterive hospital.

Theresa was a member of Total Recovery Outreach Ministries. She was a homemaker who enjoyed poetry, crafts, and spending time with her family. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Survivors include her seven children, Anthony Hayes and Diane of Coteau, Shannon Hayes and Kathy of Crowley, Kevin Hayes, Chris Hayes, Amy Hayes, Toby Hayes and Natalie, and Shelby Hayes and Ashley all of New Iberia; her former husband, Russell Joseph Hayes of Coteau; eight grandchildren, Charles Woodward, Jr., Chelsea Woodward, Coby Martinez, Mechelle Hayes, Macee Hayes, Mekel Jimenez, MaKayla Shae Hayes and Gage Hayes; sisters, Marylyn Moneaux of New Iberia and Verla Gonsoulin of Delcambre; and brothers, Paul Gaspard of New Iberia, John Gaspard of Delcambre and Ronnie Gaspard of Coteau.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Otis Gaspard, Sr. and Olympa Bourque Gaspard; two sisters, Marie Gaspard and Laura Simon; and four brothers, Herman Gaspard, Sr., Eustis Gaspard, Harold Gaspard, and Otis Gaspard, Jr.

Serving as pallbearers will be Chris, Toby, Shelby, Anthony and Shannon Hayes, and Blake Mire. Kevin Hayes will serve as honorary pallbearer.
