Mr. and Mrs. Vernis Boudreaux, Mickey, Cindy and Tim were our neighbors on Sofas Street in New Iberia from the early 1950's to the '80's. We all grew up together. We couldn't have asked for better neighbors. There are so many great memories from those times. 'Mr. Boudreaux' was always engaging towards the kids in the neighborhood. Actually quite the character when it came to that. Our family was very fond of 'Mr. Boudreaux' and 'Mrs. Boudreaux'. We had a great neighborhood and as a large group, we were always up to something and never a dull moment.
Ms. Helen, Cindy and Tim, we are sorry for your loss and we will never forget the man we affectionately called 'Mr. Boudreaux.'
Our family offers our prayers to the Boudreaux Family. Time will never take away our memories.
May God Bless,
Donnie, Michael, Randy, Peggy, Mark, and Chris Sargent

I was so sad to hear of Mr. Vernis passing on. It was a pleasure being his nurse while he was in home health! I will never forget him.... I’m due to have my baby girl on his birthday. We talked about the often! I hope his sweet wife is doing well! Y’all are in my prayers

Although I only met Uncle Vernis when I lived briefly in New Iberia in the mid-late 70's, as a very small child, I am saddened that I did not have the opportunity to know him as an adult. I know he made a huge impact on my parents' lives, as well as my own, when we lived there! He, Aunt Helen and Tim (Timmy) and Peggy will always be a special part of our lives and I thank you all for being there for us all those many years ago. Someday I would love to see you all, especially Tim and Peggy, who my parents made my Godparents!
We are praying for all of you! May you find peace in this time of sorrow! Sending our love from Indiana!!! ❤

Aunt Helen, Cindy, and Timmy;
So sorry for your loss and my prayers and thoughts are with you during this difficult time. I will miss Uncle Vernis and my godfather. He was always such a loving, caring, faith filled, and positive man. I am sure he is in the loving arms of our Lord and is enjoying being with Michael, Jim, his siblings and parents.
Peace of Christ;
