

NEW IBERIA – A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted for Mr. Walter James “Fuzzy” Harry, age 86, at 10:00 am Saturday, May 24, 2014 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church with Fr. Mark Derise officiating. Interment will be held at Memorial Park Cemetery with military honors by VFW Post #1982.
Visitation will be held from 2:00 pm until 9:00 pm on Friday with a Rosary at 6:30 pm. The funeral home will reopen at 8:00 am on Saturday until service time.
A native and resident of New Iberia, Mr. Harry passed away at 7:35 am on Thursday, May 22, 2014 at Iberia Medical Center.
Mr. Harry served his country honorably during WWII. He was employed at Fortier Boat Works for more than 30 years. He enjoyed gardening and sharing his vegetables with his family and friends.
He is survived by one daughter, Wilma Harry of New Iberia; two sons, Darrell Harry of St. Martinville and Rodney Harry of New Iberia; two sisters, Betty H. Frank and Belda H. Broussard and husband Glenn of New Iberia; five stepchildren, Roy Collins and wife Sandra; Ricky Collins, Katherine Collins, Lisa Anderson and Jeannie Gary all of New Iberia; thirteen step grandchildren and numerous step great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Darby Harry; parents, Alcide and Josephine Judice Harry; two brothers, Jessie Harry and Sidney “Jacob” Harry and six sisters, Ruby Lions, JoAnn Camacho, Irene Hebert, Anna Lee Broussard, Marie Charpentier and Alderine Hebert.
Pallbearers will be Darrell Harry, Rodney Harry, Roy Collins, Corey Camacho, Chad Broussard and Jason Broussard.
