Willa Mae Domingue Romero

NEW IBERIA – Funeral Services will be conducted for Mrs. Minos Joseph Romero, the former Willa Mae Domingue, age 83, at 10:00 am Wednesday, July 2, 2014 at Evangeline Funeral Home with Fr. Barry Crochet officiating. Interment will be follow at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 2:00 pm until 10:00 pm on Tuesday with a Rosary at 7:00 pm. The funeral home will reopen at 8:00 am on Wednesday until service time.

A native of Iberia Parish and resident of Coteau, Mrs. Romero passed away at 8:42 pm on, Sunday, June29, 2014 at Abbeville General Hospital.

Mrs. Romero enjoyed horse racing, reading and dancing. Most of all she loved spending time with her family and friends, whom will miss her dearly.

She is survived by her daughter, Dianna Bourque and husband Alton of New Iberia; two sons, Annis Romero and wife Linda of Avery Island and Julius “Joe” Romero and wife Sarah of Carencro; fifteen grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren; and two sisters, Verna Falgout and husband Archillie and Lena Romero all of New Iberia.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Minos Joseph Romero; one son, Lannis Romero; parents, Neville and Edita Morvant Domingue; son in law, Floyd Duhon; four brothers, Dennis, Odelon, James and Walter Domingue and five sisters, Lelia Moreaux, Fannie Bodin, Elaine Hulin, Edith Bourque and Helen Duhon.

Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Sonny Duhon, Tracy Duhon, Johnny Romero, Barkley Romero, Jeromy Romero, Nicholas Romero, Jacob Romero, Joshua Romero and Jordan Romero.

Honorary pallbearers will be her granddaughters, Sandy Duhon, Belinda Duhon, Sharon Lasseigne, Anissa Savoie, Kaylee Romero and Amanda Reeder.
