Dear Papa.....the American flag that was placed on your casket will fly itself high in the Great Salt Pond over the 4th of July at Payne's Dock, Block Island.
Please keep "Tropical Storm Arthur" out of Block Island this weekend. You can say "hi" in other ways!!!!

The Shennecossett Yacht Club will never seem the same without Art. He fulfilled so many roles, always helping with many projects but especially in the kitchen. His contagious smile and good humor enlivened every occasion. He truly was the spirit of the yacht club. We will all miss him.

That's right Papa, you go boating for me! You took me for my first boat ride when I was a little girl, & I never got off. Your lifelong hobby has become mine. Every time I have a cocktail at Paynes Dock at Block I think of you. "What happens in Block Island, stays in Block Island"
