Barbara Peropat

Mrs. Peropat was born on December 22, 1931 in Swanton, VT the daughter of Maxmillian and Lucille Bushey. She moved to Groton with her family in 1942 and graduated Robert E. Fitch high school in 1949. An avid golfer Barbara won the Shennecossett ladies golf championship in 1988. She worked for many years at Electric Boat in Groton as an Office Administrator. She retired in 1989. She and her husband Victor spent 30 happy years as snow birds spending winters in Williston, Fl. They returned to CT for good in 2020.

Mrs. Peropat was predeceased by her husband of 70 years, Victor A. Peropat and her only brother Maximilian Bushey.

She is survived by her two sisters Judith Leeney and Beatrice Kozlicky both of Groton. Her daughter Ellen Peropat. Her four grandchildren and their spouses, Sandy (Raul) Betancourt, James (Courtney) Schuyler, Gregory (Yulia) Schuyler, Joseph (Jennifer) Schuyler, and an enduring legacy of beloved great and great-great grandchildren.

A Calling Hour will be held on Friday, October 24, 2025 from 11:00 until 12:00pm in Fulton-Theroux Funeral Home, 181 Ocean Ave., New London, CT. Followed by a funeral service at 12:00pm in the funeral home. Interment will follow in St. Mary Cemetery, New London.
