Daniel Philip Lawrence

Mr. Lawrence was born on January 11, 1929 in New London the son of James and Maria Lawrence. He retired after 45 years, as a weight estimator at Electric Boat in Groton. He loved to play golf, a member of the hole-in-one club. A UCONN grad, he enjoyed the UCONN Women’s Basketball team’s success. He was a member of the Thames Stamp Club and was an accomplished collector. He also had a passion for plants and had over 2000 varieties in his gardens. He was very fond of his pet poodles and cats.

Mr. Lawrence is survived by his wife Shirley, his Son Todd Lawrence of Gales Ferry and daughter Kathleen Bennett of FL. He was predeceased by his sister Madalene, and brothers James, Norman and Albert.

A Procession will assemble on Tuesday, February 24, 2015 at 10:00am in Fulton-Theroux Funeral Home, 181 Ocean Ave., New London for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00am in St. Joseph Church, New London.
