Galdwill "Jimmie" James Knowles

He was born on December 2, 1939 in New London, the youngest child of the late Joseph R. and Marjorie (Sloan) Knowles. Jimmie lived most of his life in New London, and was a 1956 graduate of New London High School. He knew every corner of the City and surrounding area. Jimmie was employed as a real estate agent and bank teller prior to joining Pfizer, where he worked as a Chemical Operator until his retirement. Jimmie was known for his kind and gentle nature, sense of humor, storytelling, determination and unstoppable spirit. He will be sorely missed by his family and friends.

Jimmie is survived by numerous nieces and nephews in Connecticut and across the country. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers Joseph R. Knowles, Jr. and Harvey E. Knowles, Sr., and his sisters Lucretia Talley and Mary Catherine Pollard.

A calling hour will be held on Saturday, April 22nd from 9am-10am at Fulton-Theroux Funeral Home, 181 Ocean Ave., New London. A memorial service will follow beginning at 10am at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Cedar Grove Cemetery, New London.
