Mr. Barrett was born on August 18, 1942 in Baltimore, MD, the eldest son of John and Margaret Barrett. He proudly served his country with 20 years of military service in THE UNITED STATES NAVY! After retirement he went to work at Electric Boat as a Draftsman for many years. Go Ravens!
John is predeceased by his father John, his mother Margaret, his sister Margie and his brother Rick. John is survived by his brother Paul. His wife Margaret and his children. John and his wife Cindy, Mary, Michael and his wife Robin, David and Marian. John leaves behind many grandchildren including Desirae, Jessica, Dennis, Izabella, Tyler, Amber, Nathyn, Selena, Brianna and Thomas. Many other great grandchildren also called him “Pop Pop”.
A Calling Hour will be held on Tuesday, September 1, 2026 at Fulton Theroux at 81 Ocean Ave, New London CT 06320 at 9:30-10:30. Following we will process to a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Joseph Church, 149 Montauk Ave., New London CT at 11 am. Interment will be in the Connecticut Veteran’s Cemetery with Funeral Honors at a later date.
