For nearly 30 years she dedicated herself to the education of young minds at the United States Coast Guard Academy Child Development Center in New London, CT.
Lisa leaves her life partner Stephen Anderson Jr. of New London, CT; son Evan and his wife April; brother Charles Cutler; brother Michael Cutler and his son Sage; brother Kenneth Cutler, his wife Wioleta and their children Simon and Amelia; her step-children Stephen, Leo and Emily; and grandson Carter. Lisa is pre-deceased by her parents Kenneth and Maryann Cutler of Rochester, MA.
Lisa loved music and loved to sing. She strove to increase her musical knowledge by studying ukulele and congas. Lisa loved concerts and seeing her favorite bands live. She loved singing in her band MINDREADER and was extremely proud of her son’s musical talents and his band TimeVan.
Lisa was a continuing student, first achieving her BA in Early Childhood Development in 2015 and was studying for another BA in English and Writing, working towards an MA in Writing and Communications at the time of her passing.
Lisa loved the beach, loved her cats and dogs and loved her family without measure. She was dearly loved by all who knew her and will be missed more than she could ever know. She was a bright light in a dark space who lit up every life she touched.
Lisa suffered the effects of a lifetime of Type 1 Diabetes, which shaped her entire life. In lieu of flowers, donations in Lisa’s memory may be made to the Joslin Diabetes Center at joslin.org or (617) 975-8338.
Calling hours will be held on Sunday, August 2nd from 2 to 4 pm at Fulton Theroux Funeral Home 181 Ocean Ave, New London, CT 06320. A memorial service will be held at 3pm during calling hours.
