Robert Bernstein

He was also predeceased by his brother Elliott Bernstein. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Patricia Ruddlesden Bernstein; daughter Carey Olsen and her fiancé Courtland Brown of Waterford; daughter Jill Bernstein and her husband Philippe Vernex-Loset of Atlanta, Ga.; and a sister Lois Friedhoffer of Waterford. He was also survived by three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Robert graduated from New London High in 1959 and went on to graduate from the University of Connecticut. He worked in sales most of his career, retiring from Consumers Interstate. Robert was an avid tennis player and enjoyed the beach and reading. He was a devoted sports fan of UConn basketball and the New York Yankees. He will be greatly missed by those who loved him.

A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, March 16, at Fulton-Theroux Funeral Home, 181 Ocean Avenue, New London. Visitation will be held for one hour prior to the service from noon to 1 p.m. at the funeral home.
