

Waterford - Takla Hage, 88, of Waterford, died Friday, Jan. 10, 2025, at her home with her family by her side. Mrs. Hage was born Jan. 1, 1937, in Lebanon, the daughter of Yousef and Hanaa Slim. She married Elias Hage in 1955, and moved to New London, in 1984. He predeceased her in 2002. She is also predeceased by her brother Salim Slim.
Mrs. Hage worked for the Waterford Board of Education for almost 25 years as a custodian, reluctantly retiring in 2015. She loved being around her kids and grandkids, loved going to Mass every Saturday and loved watching her favorite Catholic TV station Noursat.
Mrs. Hage is survived by her sons: Gary (Marleen) Hage of Danbury, Michael (Terri) Hage of Wethersfield, Fadi (Amal) Hage of Waterford, and Fowzi (Katia) Hage of East Lyme; daughter Maggie (Fares) Jahjah of Marseille, France; grandchildren: Rawan, Rayan, Elias, Anthony, David, Maria, Morgan, Fadi Jr., Sara Hage, Joseph Jahjah, Jessie (Rami) Daniel, Jennie (Alaa) Awada, and Jihan (Javier) Reyes; and great-grandchildren: Emmanuelle and Jonathan Daniel, and Rosalie Awada. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
A calling hour will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 15, 2025, in St. Ann Melkite Catholic Church, 41 Cross Road, Waterford. A Mass will be held at 11 a.m. in the church immediately following. Interment will follow in St. Mary Cemetery, New London. Donations may be made in her memory to St. Ann Melkite Catholic Church.
