

Thelma was born on September 16, 1931 in Janiuay, Iloilo, Philippines. She graduated Bachelor of Science in Education and taught Mathematics at Quezon City High School for 29 years. She was awarded with her husband as Outstanding Parents of Antipolo. She received an honor from the President of the Philippines as National Exemplary Mother or Ulirang Ina Award held in Malacanang on May 1996. She was the prime mover in the construction of Sto. Nino Parish Church in Cogeo Village Antipolo, Rizal, Philippines. She was the first President of Cogeo Catholic Women’s League in Antipolo, Rizal. She was highly respected member as Treasurer of Cogeo Village Homeowners Association for eight years.
Thelma is survived by her beloved husband of 52 years, Enrique Misola Gonzales; by her eight adored children, Maria Corazon Mariano, Nathaniel, Luzviminda Sabile, Elma Gatchalian, Zenaida Gatchalian, Enrique Jr, Elmer and Thelma; by her loving sons and daughters in law, Eduardo Sabile, Gerardo Gatchalian, Gaudencio Gatchalian Jr, Ayrin Maybituin Gonzales, Randie Rano Gonzales, Ma. Cristina Vasquez Gonzales, and Steve Miller; by her 20 proud grandchildren, Rodrigo,, Franchella, Noel, Eduardo Jr., Luvy Ann, Henric, Jerel, Jerelyn, Matthew, Gaudencio III, Rainier, Erika, Raila, Elin, Kim, Kay Ann, Kayla and Lizel, by her 2 brothers and 4 sisters, Alfredo, Berning, Lydia, Dolores, Caridad, and Belen. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jose Intrepido and Caridad Panolino Intrepido, and by her 4 brothers, Protacio , Robert, Rene and Jose Jr. She will be dearly missed by family, relatives and friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday at 10 am, July 8, 2011 at St. Joseph Church, Squire St., New London. Following the Mass, visiting hours will be held until 5pm at Fulton-Theroux, Funeral Home, 181 Ocean Ave., New London. Burial will be in the Philippines.
