Victoria Jane Smeeton

Mrs. Smeeton was born on August 30, 1957 in Yonkers, NY the daughter of Edwin and Carole Moran McGuire. She married Floyd Smeeton on May 15, 1976 in New London. She graduated from Mitchell College with a degree in Early Childhood Developement and was employeed at Conn. College, TVCCA Head Start, Companion and then a Home Healthcare Aid and Assistant which lead her to Mohegan Community College earning a degree in Nursing and was employeed as a Registered Nurse for 18 years at William W. Backus Hospital.

Mrs. Smeeton is survived by her husband Floyd, her mother Carole McGuire, her four brothers Andrew McGuire, John Symes, Christopher Austill, and Gregory McGuire, and her sister Katrina McGuire. She was predeceased by her Father Edwin, her Step-Mother Victoria and her brother Jeffery.

Calling Hours will be held on Monday, March 5, 2012 in Fulton-Theroux Funeral Home, 181 Ocean Ave., New London, CT 06320 from 11:00am until 1:00pm and again from 6:00 until 8:00pm, with an opportunity for friends and family to share their thoughts at 12:30pm and again at 7:30pm during the calling hours.
