Walter R. Grabel

Mr. Grabel was born on April 11, 1922 to Jacob Grabel and Anna Henning in Johnson City, TN.

Mr. Grabel worked at Electric Boat for 23 years as a Sheet Metal Fabricator. He was previously involved with the Moose Lodge in New London, CT as well as the Odd Fellows in Ambridge, PA. His hobbies included coin collecting and gardening.

Mr. Grabel is survived by his wife of 72 years, Bertha Grabel; sons Walter Grabel Jr. and Richard Grabel; daughters Linda Domahowski and Bonnie Bradford; grandchildren Kathryn Grabel, Kelly Chance, Karen Domahowski, Hannah Boyle, James Bradford; great-grandchildren Cory Chance, Sophia Boyle, and Adrian Bradford. He is predeceased by his daughter Nancy Visser.

Calling hours will be held on Sunday, December 20, 2015 from 4PM until 6PM at Fulton-Theroux Funeral Home, 181 Ocean Ave., New London, CT. A funeral service will be held on Monday, December 21, 2015 at 11AM in the funeral home. Burial will immediately follow in Jordan Cemetery, Waterford, CT.
