

Albert Barrientos of Westfeldt Brothers, Inc. died Saturday August 7th, 2010 after a brief illness at the age of 89. He was a lifelong resident of New Orleans, where he received his formal education. Mr. Barrientos came into the coffee business with The Brazil Sales Agency in 1940 after serving 4 years in the Navy during WWII and began a long and accomplished career with Westfeldt Brothers, Inc. in New Orleans, until retiring in 2005 as Executive Vice President.
During his 65 years in the coffee trade Mr. Barrientos had many accomplishments. He held the position as President of the Green Coffee Association of New Orleans, the New Orleans Board of Trade and The Southern Coffee Association. He also held the position as Chairman of The Armed Services Committee of the National Coffee Association, and also was on the board of The National Coffee Association and The New Orleans Public Belt Railroad.
He was loved by all of the people in the coffee industry for his hard work, loyalty, and lasting friendship. His love for the coffee industry, and those in it had no equal in his life. If Mr. Albert referred to you as a" Good Coffee Man", rest assured it was the highest compliment one in the business could receive.
His legacy in the coffee business will live on by all his fellow employees at Westfeldt Brothers, who enjoyed his friendship, inspiration and wit over the years.
He is survived by his wife Jeanne, and son Albert
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 631 State St., New Orleans, at 10:00 AM on Thursday, August 12, 2010. Visitation will be from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Wednesday, August 11, at Jacob Schoen and Son Funeral, 3827 Canal St. Interment will be in St. Vincent Cemetery #2 on Soniat St..
