

Arthur Chisholm Hosli of New Orleans, LA passed away at 2:45 pm Monday, October 14, 2013 at his home in Eden Isle after a courageous battle with cancer. He passed peacefully, the way he would have wanted, with his wife Laura, by his side. Arthur was born June 3, 1947 to his late parents Edwin Hosli and Leila Chisholm Hosli. Arthur was CEO of his company Coastal Marine Marketing and had the pleasure of representing Everglades Boats by the Doughertys and longtime friend Bryan Harris, Southfork aluminum Boats by Galen and Kim McGraw, Magic Tilt Trailers, Evenrude Motors, and many more throughout his years in the boat business. Arthur owned and trained Thoroughbred horses with Ignatius Tusa, his wife Linda, and their children Bryan and Leslie who were all a special part of his life. Arthur spent his life serving the nation and the community, first as a member of the United States Navy having successfully sacrificed four years to our country and being Honorably Discharged on November 23, 1970. Next, he provided his skillful service to the local community by serving as a member of the New Orleans Fire Department for over ten years. Arthur always enjoyed life to the fullest, while always putting his family first and foremost as his number one priority. He had many good friends at the Bilge Carnival Crew of Slidell, enjoyed motorcycles, classic cars, golf, and boating was always among his favorite pastimes. Arthur was a charitable man; he headed the deep-south fishing rodeo in Grande Isle, LA to benefit Children’s Hospital in New Orleans and was an active member of the American Legion. Arthur is survived by many family members who loved him dearly. His wife Laura Finnan Hosli, daughter Heather Marie Hosli and her fiancé Sean Pierce, Crystal Lee and her partner April Meeks, Ali Cher and her daughter Jada Marie, nephew Edwin Chisholm Hosli Jr. and wife Michelle Austin Hosli, their children Gabriella and Christian, who were preceded by brother Jacob Hosli who passed early in his little life, as well as Arthur’s late brother Edwin Chisholm Hosli Sr. who’s life was taken during his service on the New Orleans Police Department, and finally his sister Linda Backus her husband Melvin, their late son Christopher Backus, and their son Ronnie and wife Jessica Backus. Family and friends are invited to attend a celebration to honor Arthur’s life at Jacob Schoen Funeral home located at 3827 Canal St, New Orleans LA, 70119. Visitation will be held from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm, with service at 8:00 pm. All of us are richer by virtue of knowing such a wonderful person. He will be missed by all nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends around the country.
