
Audrey Natal Gibson died Aug 19, 2012, at the age of 87. She was born in New Orleans to the late Frank Theodore and Delta Catanzaro Natal on March 6, 1925. Beloved mother of Audrey Riche Mizell (Robbie), Kathy Paul Gerken (Bill), Lynn Paul and Leon Riche (Martha); grandmother of Barbara, Cindy and Bobby Mizell and Cheyenne Couret; great grandmother of five, sister of Frank Natal (Karen), aunt of numerous nieces and nephews. She was a gifted artist; chef; could sew anything; carved a Carousel Horse; built her own pirogue; skydived; won several World Champion Pirogue races in the 50s, at Lafitte & Bayou Liberty; won multiple medals in the Senior Olympics; loved fishing, golfing, tinkering; and had that special charm that made everyone love her. She didn’t know a stranger! She is preceded in death by husband, Alfred P. Gibson; parents, Frank and Delta Natal; and a sister, Beverly Natal Wilkinson. The family would like to extend their gratitude for the care she received by Drs Hospice and especially her personal caregiver Eileen Caire. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a celebration of her life on Saturday, August 25, 2012 at Jacob Schoen and Son Funeral Home on Canal Street in New Orleans. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation begins at 9:30 am until the service at 11:00am. In lieu of flowers please donate to Hospice.
