Betty Jean Daire Lay

LAY Betty Jean Daire Lay, loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend, passed away on Tuesday, September 18, 2012 at the age of 72. Betty was preceded in death by her beloved husband, John Corbett Lay, and her parents, Eva Beulah Bolfa Daire and John Pierre Daire. She is survived by her children, John K. Lay (Earline) and Dianna L. Townsend (James), 9 grandchildren, 18 great grandchldren and 2 great great grandchildren, two sisters, Barbara Guillory and Gail Fontenot and was also preceded in death by her sister, Natalie Bigner and her brother Richard Milligan. Betty was born in Ville Platte, LA and resided in Lumberton. MS for the past 3 years.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass to be celebrated in the Chapel of Jacob Schoen and Son Funeral Home, 3827 Canal St., New Orleans, LA on Saturday, September 22, 2012 at 11:30 A.M. with visitation at the funeral home beginning at 8:00 A.M. Interment will be in St. Patrick #1 Cemetery.
