Mrs. Catherine Lois Cohen Loria

Catherine (Kay) Loria was a lifelong New Orleanian. She was raised in the Irish Channel and graduated from Redempterist High School. She moved to Mid-City after her marriage and then to Terrytown when Terrytown was first being developed.

She opened Kay's Child Care & Preschool on Terry Parkway, operated Kay's Infant Center and ran Kay's Montesouri in Algiers. All of Terrytown's children and families knew her and loved her. She was always the kindest, most caring and giving individual and loved all children.

Survivors include her husband of nearly 63 years,Joseph A. Loria, Sr., three sons, Steve, Kenny and his partner, Marshall Terry, and Michael; four grandsons, Robert (Bo) Loria and his wife Nicole, Ryan Loria, Michael Loria, Jr., and Anthony Loria, and two great granddaughters Madasyn and Brielle. She is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son Joseph Loria, Jr. Catherine Cohen Loria is the last of 9 siblings in the Cohen Family.

The family will receive friends and relatives, Tuesday, June 22 from 7-9PM and again Wednesday, June 23 beginning at 11:00 AM with a Catholic Mass following at the Chapel of Jacob Schoen and Son, 3827 Canal Street.
