Catherine Forte Murrah

Catherine F. Murrah passed away peacefully on Friday, July 22, 2011 at the age of 83, surrounded by her loving family. She was preceded in death by her parents Peter Forte and Julia H. Forte. Beloved wife of 62 years of Winfield A. Murrah. Mother of Sandra A. Murrah and Gwenn M. Swaney (Jim). Grandmother of Tracie S. Bruno (Bryan), Ashley S. Gernon (Ryan), and Brian J. Swaney (Ruby). Great grandmother of Michael J. Gernon. Sister of the late August P. Forte and Mathilda D. Canova. Survived by sisters Mary F. Shea, Theresa F. Hertz and Gail F. Cazayoux.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service at St. Chrisopher the Martyr Church, 309 Manson Ave. Metairie, LA 70001, on Friday, July 29, 2011 at 12:00 p.m. Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m. until service time. Internment will be private at Greenwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family request that donation be made to the charity of you’re choice.
