Denis Leonard Guidry Jr.

Denis Leonard Guidry passed away on Monday, January 27, 2014, at age 75. Beloved husband of Elvira Graffagnini Guidry. Preceded in death by mother, Genevieve Bergeron Guidry, father, Denis L. Guidry, Sr., and sister, Gloria G. Boudreaux. Father of Leonard Guidry (Karen), Larry Guidry, Lee Guidry (Debbi) and Denise Guidry Trahan (Ken). Brother of Dolores G. Chauvin (Camille). Also survived by 12 grandchildren Darlene, Wesley, Audrey, Brett, Leila, Sabrina, Cory, Chad, Kristen, Travis, Farrah and Serena, 4 great grandchildren, in-laws, nieces and nephews. Denis was a retired distributor of Bunny Bread.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation at Jacob Schoen & Son Funeral Home, 3827 Canal St., New Orleans, on Friday, January 31, 2014, from 10 a.m. until noon. Mass will begin at noon. Interment will follow at Lake Lawn Metairie Cemetery.

A man of dignity and a man of great faith who lived his faith and life to the fullest, Denis Guidry went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Monday, January 27.

Denis is deeply appreciated and will always be remembered for his calm demeanor, humble nature and his ability to overcome the most severe adversity imaginable to serve as an inspiration to all around him.

He valued his faith and family above all else, devoted to the Lord and embracing, supporting and serving his loving wife of 59 years, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren with all of his love and all of his might.

Watching professional golf on television will never seem the same without his presence but while he will not be here in the physical sense, the spirit of Denis, a true child of God, lives on in the hearts and souls of all who were fortunate to encounter him on this earth.

Perhaps the best description to fit Denis can be found In the words of Matthew 25:23, "well done, my good and faithful servant." While you are missed, we believe through our faith in Jesus Christ that we will see you again.
