

Edward Thomas Lestrade, Jr. passed away surrounded by family at East Jefferson General Hospital on Sunday, August 25, 2013 at the age of 66, following a brief illness. He was a lifelong resident of Metairie, Louisiana.
Edward is survived by his wife of 22 years, Georgette Cobena Lestrade, his mother Elaine Schaefer Lestrade, his daughter Cherie Burlet and her husband Dr. Robert Burlet, III of Lafayette, his son Edward Thomas Lestrade III and his wife Sheila of Baton Rouge, his step-daughter Janessa Marsh Huddleston and her husband SSgt Matthew Huddleston of Richlands, North Carolina, and his sister Darleen Vignes and her husband Paul of Diamondhead, Mississippi. He was the proud grandfather of eight grandchildren: Robert, Emma, Abigail, William, Megan, Brooke, Anna, and Alaina. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Edward is predeceased by his father, Edward Thomas Lestrade, Sr. and his brother, William John Lestrade, and a nephew, Nathan Dayries.Edward was a graduate of Delgado Community College. He worked at Davies Engineers in Metairie for 38 years, where he was a senior designer and construction coordinator. He was an avid fisherman and hunter, fully embracing his life in South Louisiana.

Visitation will be from 9:00 in the morning until noon Monday, September 2, 2013 at Jacob Schoen & Son Funeral Home, 3827 Canal St. New Orleans, Louisiana.
