Elizabeth Ann O'Connell Fenton

Elizabeth O'Connell Fenton, age 65, passed away on Monday, September 3, 2012, at home with family after a long illness. Beloved mother of: Jennifer Fenton Weishaupt and her husband Erich of New Orleans, LA; William Fenton and his wife Jennifer of York, PA; and Christopher Fenton and his wife Paula of Las Vegas, NV. Beloved grandmother of: Aidan, Zachary, and Emery Weishaupt; Jordan, Lauren, Leah, and William Fenton, Jr.; and Ethan and Daniel Fenton. Elizabeth was predeceased by her parents, Charles and Mildred O'Connell, and her former husband Edward Fenton Jr. She is survived by her siblings and in-laws: John O'Connell, Bobby & Franceen O'Connell, Kathy O'Connell Pezzino, Billy O'Connell, Jimmy & Judy O'Connell, and David O'Connell; and Kathy Fenton, Tom & Joanne Fenton, Susan (Fenton) & Paul Masciello, and Jim & Lori Fenton. Special thanks to her brother David and her college friend Dee Luka, for their time and loving care during her illness. She will also be missed by her Aunt Mary and her many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.

Elizabeth was born on August 4,1947, in Brooklyn, NY, and spent most of her life on Long Island, NY, growing up in Bellmore and raising her family in Brentwood. She then resided in Ocean Pines, MD, for over 10 years, and recently moved to New Orleans to live with her daughter and family. She had a 40- year career in the Medical Records field.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend a memorial service in the Chapel of Jacob Schoen & Son Funeral Home, 3827 Canal St. New Orleans, LA; on Friday, September 7, 2012 at 4:00 pm. Visitation will begin at 1:00 pm until service time.

A memorial service will also be held in Long Island, NY, in the coming weeks A notice with service information will be posted in Newsday. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Elizabeth's name to Notre Dame Hospice of New Orleans, or to Morris Jeff Community School of New Orleans.
