John Joseph Cangelosi

JOHN J. (“J.J.”) CANGELOSI on Monday, May 6, 2013. Beloved son of Joseph C. Cangelosi and the late Jeannette B. Cangelosi. Brother of Kathleen C. Seamster (Brian) and the late Marian Cangelosi. Uncle of Brandy S. Johnston (Michael), Jeffrey Seamster (Erin) and Emily Seamster. Great-uncle of Josephine Johnston and Abigail Seamster.

John was the owner/operator of Pelican Pest Control which he established in 1988. He was an award winning weight lifter who made many life long friends at the gym. During the Vietnam War John served on the S.S. Sea Pioneer, a Merchant Marine vessel, delivering fuel to U.S. forces in Vietnam.

John attended Cor Jesu High School and Chalmette High. After earning his G.E.D. he enrolled in a course of pest control at Delgado Community College. In elementary school he played clarinet in the school band. He enjoyed learning magic tricks and performing shows for family and friends.

Family and friends are invited to the Memorial Service at Jacob Schoen & Son Funeral Home on Thursday May 30th at 1pm. Visitation will begin at 11am and continue until service time.
