John Hoffman Wappler

John H. “Jack” Wappler passed away on Saturday, March 20, 2010. He was 81. He was the beloved husband of Joy Roquevert Wappler. He was the father of Wayne J. Wappler, Charlotte A. Wappler, Rebecca Wappler Naquin, and Terrence R. Ryan, Jr., as well as father-in-law of Raymond Naquin. He was the grandfather of Peyton and Everett Wappler, and Gabrielle and Christian Naquin. He was the brother of Lynn Wappler Boyle, and son of the late John Anthony Wappler and Cecilia Hoffman Wappler. He was a graduate of St. Aloysius High School and received both a Bachelors and Masters Degree from Louisiana State University. He did additional study at the University of New Orleans. He was a retired petroleum geologist from Mobil Exploration & Producing and a member of the New Orleans Geological Society.

A Funeral Mass will be held in the Chapel of Jacob Schoen and Son Funeral Home, 3827 Canal Street, on Wednesday, March 24, 2010, at 12:15 PM. Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM. Interment will be in Metairie Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer Masses or donations to Maryknoll Fathers and Brothers, PO Box 301, Maryknoll, NY 10545-0301 or Blessed Francis X.
